Bimini is home to one of the greatest and most storied bonefisheries in history. Golf legend Sam Sneed's all tackle record 15.8 pounds bonefish caught in 1953 cruised these flats. Encompassing the lower third of the island and only making up about 20 percent of its land mass, the south end of north Bimini is home to Alice town and living in only one half a square mile 1638 residents. Hemingway's hangout, the famous and recently burned Complete Angler Hotel, The Big Game Club, Brown's Marina, and all the quaint shops and bars that gave this island its charm, line the Kings and Queens highways, Bimini's two one lane roads.
